FYI Debunk -

Apparently, the story of special Indian trackers being recruited by the U.S. Army for missions in Vietnam is a fabrication.

No evidence supports its validity.

And the claims of them enjoying relaxed grooming standards (long hair vice buzz cuts) because their hair was the source of their near supernatural tracking abilities is doubly false.

The hair shaft contains no nerve cells. It is made of keratin and is completely dead.

Granted, some autonomic nerve fibers exist around the base of the hair follicle.

One could argue that it acts as a crude tactile sensory receptor because bending the hair stimulates the nerve endings and allows a person to feel that the hair has been moved.

But to put things in perspective, let's just say that in the sensory input arena, human hair is the ultimate lame loser; playing third string to cat whiskers, bat ears and flicking snake tongues.

So...sorry Virginia, welcome to reality.

Secret U.S. Army Indian trackers in Vietnam is just a cool fictional story.

There is no tooth fairy.

And Santa Claus? Although his persona is based on pagan lore, he's not real either.

Bah, humbug! Lol!

May you and yours be well and loving life today.
