Every month of July we celebrate Nutrition Month. It is an annual celebration of nutrition and the important role that food plays in our bodies. It promote s education and awareness around a national campaign that focuses heavily on making informed food choices and developing better eating and exercising habits. Not only healthy eating, buz it also makes people aware of the specific diets needed to combat illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, and certain type of cancers, and also how food can be the first line of defense against certain illnesses.
- This picture was taken infront of our vegetable garden. Pupils wore their sash with pictures of fruits and vegetables pasted on it. They also carried their basket of fruits and vegetables.
Last July 6, our school conducted the launching of Nutrition Month celebration. The learners were encourage to bring fruits and vegetables. We had our parade inside the school campus bringing their basket of fruits and vegetables. Our school nurse gave an over view and the importance on why we celebrate nutrition month. She also encouraged the learners to eat fruits and vegetables and NOT processed food, and to drink milk and NOT milk tea.
After the activity, the pupils ate their fruits as their snacks for that day. I also encouraged them to eat vegetables at home in order for them to be healthy always and to have a sharper mind.
