I noticed that the notifications are broken. While the count goes up, nothing new gets displayed on my notifications screen. This makes it really hard to tell when there are any new notifications. @sabion I think you are working on this, just a heads up.

What's happening is that the notifications server sends all notifications, but the frontends don't render the vote notifications, but they still count all the notifications received from the server.
When the count goes up, but you don't see any new notifications on the notifications page, it's because it was a notification about a vote.
While you're on the notifications page, you can open the browser console by pressing F12, and you can find the response from the server. It will look something like this:
Then you can click on the arrow to open it up and look at what the server sent.
It's something that I'll have to fix when I bring back the main frontend at blurt.world. Then you'll be able to see the vote notifications instead of just seeing the counter go up.

If you're using either blurtworld.com or blurtter.com, you'll need to contact their respective owners if you want them to fix the problem on their frontends.
