This #NinetiesFriday I’ll be talking about Weezer’s 1994 debut album 💿

  • Weezer’s Self Titled (Blue Album)
  • Favorite Songs
  • The Cars Producer
  • Follow Up 1996
  • Lost Record 1998/1999

Only a ten track album so this is 60% of the record, but well deserved great tunes!

Then if you still have some free time! Here’s 3 tracks from the follow up record and only other nineties release Weezer had (Pinkerton,1996) it’s a very different vibes. I like it but it was very different sound that many didn’t take well. Then decades later it’s become a favorite to many fans!

For whatever reason 1996 follow up bombed commercially. That said I believe a 1998 or 1999 third try would have put them back in the top. Unfortunately they took a 5 year break and didn’t release anything until 2001.
