Local traders will import green chilli from India through Hili Land Port from tomorrow (August 6) to cool down the skyrocketing prices of the widely-used spice.
Harun ur Rashid, president of Hili Land Port Exporter-Importer Group, said this on Friday.
Green chilli is now selling at Tk 240/250 a kilogramme in different markets across Bangladesh amid sudden supply shortage.
Traders and farmers said production of green chilli has fallen to some extent because of little rainfall in the chilli growing districts.
