The incident experienced by a 5-year-old boy from Ponorogo, AH, has become a public spotlight. He is said to have suffered 30 percent burns as a result of the flames from ice smoke, a snack treated with liquid nitrogen. The origin of the fire is still not known for certain because the liquid nitrogen used for ice smoke is not flammable.

While liquid nitrogen is not flammable, keep in mind that it is by no means harmless. The resulting cold temperatures can still trigger burns called 'cold burn' or 'frostbite' when in direct contact with the skin.
