Blockchain Firm ShareRing Allow Users To Pay Trips On Viator Via Crypto

Australian-based blockchain company ShareRing has partnered with Tripadvisor experience marketplace Viator to allow users to book, register, and pay for 400,000 tourism experiences using cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and its native SharePay token (SHRP). The platform uses the ShareRing ID system to ensure that sensitive personal and financial information is securely handled, and has contact tracing features to help with tourism safety during the pandemic. World-famous car manufacturer, BMW will soon launch a blockchain-powered reward program called BMW Vantage. The points-based rewards program uses blockchain technology to securely allocate and track tokens for participating customers. Broadly, the purpose of the points-based scheme will be to provide loyal users with discounts on car maintenance and other BMW services. The chair of Malaysia’s Sharia Advisory Council says not only that cryptos are sharia compliant, but also that they offer many opportunities. According to Shariah Advisory Council chairman of the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) Datuk Dr Daud Bakar this new development can open up so many interesting areas in Malaysia, in which crypto can be deemed as investment assets where people can buy and hold for trading. South Korea Will Test Its Digital Currency Next Year

The Bank of Korea, South Korea's central bank, is set to test digital currency for pilot transactions next year. South Korean state-run news agency Yonhap reported, the Bank of Korea has completed the design and technology review of its digital currency and will now focus on testing it. The Bank of Korea would be in charge of issuance and redemption of digital currency, while private financial institutions would manage its distribution, per the report. First-Ever NFT-Linked Bitcoin Artwork Auctioned For $131,250

Block 21, an artwork and accompanying non-fungible token (NFT) “digital portrait” of Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto, fetched $131,250 at an auction at Christie’s today. It was the first-ever NFT sold at a major auction house. The work is just one of a series of 40 total objects, collectively titled Portraits of a Mind. Each of these panels—imposing, circular structures with their centers removed—displays a section of Bitcoin’s v0.1.0 code. Some 322,048 digits were individually inscribed on each panel. Wrapped BTC (WBTC) Total Value Locked Exceed $1 Billion

The recent DeFi bull-cycle has pushed the total value locked (TVL) of popular Bitcoin (BTC) tokenization protocol Wrapped BTC (WBTC) up by 900% to surpass $1 billion. The milestone comes four weeks after the TVL of all Bitcoin tokenized on Ethereum (ETH) surpassed $1 billion for the first time. The current TVL of tokenized Bitcoin is nearly $1.5 billion, of which WBTC currently represents one-third. Messaging App Line Unveils Crypto Lending Service

LVC, the crypto exchange operator and blockchain business unit of LINE, is launching a service that allows users to lend crypto assets to its exchange BITMAX. In return lenders will receive a rental fee, which is like the interest on a bank loan. Between Oct. 7- Oct. 30, the company will run a campaign that will let users earn up to 10% per annum of the fee from the lending service.
