Binance P2P Trading Volumes Are Seeing Double-Digit Growth In One Year

Crypto exchange Binance last month celebrated the first anniversary of its peer-to-peer crypto trading service. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao stated that Binance’s P2P trading is “seeing double digit growth. Sometimes even week-on-week.” Binance’s P2P trading volume topped $4.2 billion in the past 12 months. And, on October 22, the network’s daily trading volume hit an all-time high of $46 million. The platform allows buyers and sellers to transact directly with each other, without a third party, and functions as a gateway to convert fiat money to crypto. Read Full on Decrypt.

Following Unusual Demand PayPal Raises Crypto Limits To $15,000

PayPal announced on Oct. 21 that the company would allow users to buy, hold, and sell cryptocurrencies. Discussing the news, PayPal CEO Dan Schulman said PayPal’s base was very eager for us to offer these capabilities. Schulman said that the waiting list to use crypto was two times to three times of what our expectations were. In Monday’s quarterly earnings call, PayPal executives confirmed that they’d seen so much interest in the feature that they would raise buying limits from $10,000 to $15,000. Grayscale Bitcoin Fund Sees Largest Ever Weekly Inflow

Grayscale’s Bitcoin fund GBTC recorded the largest inflow of around $215 million in the week ending Oct. 29. Focused on institutions, the uptick indicates a continued appetite for crypto among traditional financial players. Grayscale Investments LLC offers accredited investors the opportunity to invest in digital currencies via share indices backed by digital assets. Last week, GBTC added 15,907 Bitcoins worth $215 million, reporting a consistent rise in the number of shares issued. The total GBTC now under management (AUM) is $6.41 billion. Speaking during Monday’s session of the ongoing Hong Kong Fintech Week, Yi Gang, the governor of China’s central bank revealed that the country’s CBDC has so far processed $300 million in payments from more than 4 million transactions. This figure represents almost a 100% increase from the $160 million recorded as of the end of September. Read Full on BTCMANAGER.

Australian Senator: “The Future Is Technology By Blockchain”

Australian Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg thinks that blockchain technology could become a useful tool in reducing complications associated with financial regulatory compliance and transparency. “The future is technology by blockchain,” the senator said at an online panel of the Future of Financial Services 2020 conference. Bragg said that blockchain-powered instant cross-border transactions “may well be the solution to one-touch government with international transactions in real time.” Read Full on ZDNet.

Bitcoin Miner's Revenue From Transaction Fees Rose By 12% in October

The share of overall bitcoin miner revenue from transaction fees rose to roughly 12% in October — the highest level since January 2018. The development, according to data from Coin Metrics, is perhaps unsurprising given that the end of October saw a notable jump in bitcoin transaction fees. Blockchain transaction fees are higher when the network is busier, as users pay more to compete for a limited amount of block space. Miners generated a total of $352.57 million in monthly revenue during October, according to data from Coin Metrics. Read Full on The Block.
