America’s health system is certainly flawed and in need of reform, but there is clearly something working well enough that our system, despite already treating ten times more cases of appendicitis, can absorb the dissatisfied Canadians.
I would like to at least see an honest comparison by proponents of socialized medicine. It's always portrayed as a panacea but there are certainly negative aspects to such systems. Some of these can lead to death as, for example, having to wait longer for surgery. Hence why tens of thousands of Canadians come to the U.S. for surgery each year. Those of us who oppose nationalized healthcare don't oppose it because we wish to see people suffer. Quite the opposite.
