I am quite relived that our town along with the rest of the country is doing well with the number of decreasing CoViD cases especially today where there are no reported infections. It is maybe because people here are willing and eager to get vaccinated so that they can avoid many inconveniences like not being able to go to a restaurant or shopping centers where sometimes you are not allowed to go in without nothing to show in getting at least one vaccination shot.
The restrictions here in my country is very localized. Normally if one gets tested positive they have to stay put at home. You will then ask how will they get the food they need while they are in quarantine? The village or town officials will take care of their basic needs, they will receive food items and more plus relatives can drop-off their necessities near their home.
The if the town has a lot of CoViD cases depending where are the sick people are, then they quarantine the whole village, a group of village, or the whole town or province. The level of restriction is from wearing face masks and shields to total no movement which the latter being rarely enforced and only if the government sees that the hospitals are getting overwhelmed and villages up to the provincial level are reporting many number of infections occurring.
The population In my town is only about 118,000 +/- but the ones that got CoViD infection was only about less than 2.4% of the total population but it doesn't mean that we are safe since the deaths from it is 124 more or less plus not all people reports about a family member being ill because getting infected has its level of negative connotation for the infected person as they are always treated like lepers considering that we are talking about a very infectious or transmissible virus.
I just hope that we will soon beat this virus, all we need is a lot of prayers, turning to God in these unusual times, being cooperative to health authorities so that things like this improvements would continue so that we can finally say bye-bye to the virus if not to control it and manage the future individuals that will get infected so that they will not anymore visit the hospital and all that psychological burden in thoughts and also especially in the pockets.
