Some more local names: Kancharaghas / Jalpipali / Bukunbuti

Botanical name: Phyla nodiflora (L.) Greene

Family: Verbenaceae, described by, Maya Mahjabin / Phyla nodiflora (L.) Greene (1899) [Synonym: Lippia nodiflora (L.) Rich.] The first problem is language. Okra (or ‘Okra’) is not a Bengali word. That is why I have an objection to take the name 'Bhui Okra'.

It has another name ‘Bhui Ankara’. There is a problem in that too. Evolvulus alsinoides (L.) L.- also known as ‘Bhui Okra’ or ‘Bhui Ankara’. Evolvulus nummularius (L.) L. also has another name ‘Bhui Okra’ or ‘Bhui Ankara’. However, they have a few more Bengali names.

So I like the Bengali name of P. nodiflora bhui ankara or bakkam.

I don't have to take that name if I like it. However, there was a request to think. described by Hasan Mehedi
