In 2019 we had planted like 5,000 plants for free and many of these plants didn't survive.
A lot of these saplings were planted at the Central University of Karnataka. My team and I was invited there on three occasions and we planted like 400-500 plants here.
Once I was giving a speech on the stage and I told the students and the business school Dean that why can't we give some grades to students who plant trees and take care of them.
The dean agreed right away and the students planted a few hundred plants that day. It was one of the best days of my life.
The idea wasn't unique. I had read about such initiatives online. Some University in South India was doing it and some University in some other Asian country was also giving grades to students who plant and take care of the trees.
Yesterday I recieved a call from a friend who works at the University and they asked if I can provide them some plants and since I have a nursery now they wanted to pay for them. I agreed and I personally delivered.
I took a look at some of the plants we planted in 2019 and my heart filled with happiness.
They look don't they?
When the university was established in 2011 they had planted 30,000 plant but very few of them had survived because they had no water supply.
Now they have water supply and they are working on making the campus green.
