Back at it again with another gardening update! A few days ago I planted these mini sweet pepper plants directly into the ground of the garden in the backyard (the same place where the Tomato plants are growing)! The garden was prepped with some dead leaves and sticks to get the soil ready for some fresh crops.
I planted approximately 12 pepper plants that looked like they were ready to be planted, I still have 3 more that I haven't planted just yet. I'm still not sure what I want to do with the extra ones, however, I doubt they will go into this garden. I'll probably throw them into my "extras" corner where I have my habaneros, mini sweets, and a serrano chili pepper plants growing very close to one another. The "extra" corner are the pepper plants that I don't mind cross pollinating.
I have a general idea of what I want the garden to look like, but for right now I'm just going to leave it alone and water regularly so they can survive the brutish heat from the sun! Helping the plants survive the transplant is priority for me right now, everything else can take a backseat.
This group right here will be a special experiment for me. The one in the back I want it to grow as tall as it can be without much side growth. As it grows, I want to maintain a minimum height of at least 5 feet. While the three on the front will be the most bushiest of the plants. I'm hoping to keep these roughly around 3-4 feet tall (probably 4 feet maximum). The extra ones in the middle (to the left), I'll just leave them alone without much pruning (once we get to that point).
So far it has been going good, but nature is hardly predictable so we'll see what happens in the coming weeks. Right now the plants are roughly A month and 1-2 weeks old, it may be a little early for them to be out here, but things seem to be going fine.
