Lonely Elephant - Sri Lanka

Dear Friends ,

This is photograph captured in one of our trip to Polonnaruwa area. You all know Sri Lanka is an island blessed with rich elephant population. There are around 8000 wild elephants in Sri Lanka according to the recent stats. But according to the historical statistics , majority of elephants were killed by British army when they conquered and ruled Sri Lanka. Nothing good can be expected from them. Anyway we are still lucky to see them even today. Thousands of tourists visits island only to watch wild elephants and there are famous safari rides too.
