In my previous article I commented on the wonderful feeling of having witnessed whale watching in the Valdés Peninsula in the first person and from very close, more precisely in Puerto Madryn, a true gateway to the wonders that nature offers us in the Argentine Patagonia.
I did not put aside the rest of the excursions and trips that I was able to organize in that spectacular place, but only put the most spectacular in the foreground.
Perhaps not necessarily the most beautiful, if the most spectacular due to the dimensions of the animals being observed, in this case, the whales.
Beings that weigh several tons and yet move in the sea with a grace that defies the law of gravity.
Turning around, turning and doing cartwheels to finally dive with the tail pointing to the sky as a farewell in a real explosion of foam.
It really is a show that must be seen to be enjoyed, no matter how much the images end up being a faithful witness to the event.
Today I will show you the rest of the animals that at this time of year Península Valdés choose to nest and raise their children.
In particular the Magellanic penguin.
A recommendation for those who try to visit this place. They never get in the way of the penguins as they easily lose their orientation on land and then cannot find their nest condemning the chicks (or the eggs) to certain death.
The Magellanic penguin is a species that, although it does not present a danger with respect to its continuity as a species, if instead, it continually faces great threats, among the main ones chronic oil pollution and climate change.
En mi artículo anterior les comentaba sobre la maravillosa sensación de haber presenciado en primera persona y desde muy cerca el avistaje de las ballenas en la Península Valdés, más precisamente en Puerto Madryn, verdadera puerta de entrada a las maravillas que la naturaleza nos ofrece en la Patagonia argentina.
No dejé de lado el resto de las excursiones y viajes que pude organizar en ese lugar espectacular, sino que solamente puse en primer plano lo más espectacular. Tal vez no necesariamente lo más hermoso, Si lo más espectacular por las dimensiones de los animales objeto del avistaje, en este caso, las ballenas.
Seres que pesan varias toneladas y sin embargo se mueven en el mar con una gracia que desafía la ley de gravedad. Dando vueltas sobre si mismas, girando y haciendo volteretas para al final zambulliurse con la cola apuntando al cielo a modo de despedida en una verdadera explosión de espuma.
Realmente es un espectáculo que hay que verlo para disfrutarlo por más que las imágenes terminen siendo fiel testimonio del evento.
Hoy les mostraré el resto los animales que en esta época del año eligen Península Valdés para anidar y criar sus hijos.
En particular el pinguino de Magallanes.
Una recomendación para los que intenten visitar este lugar. Nunca entorpezcan el recorrido de los pinguinos ya que pierden fácilmente la orientación en tierra y luego no pueden encontrar su nido condenando los polluelos (o los huevos) a una muerte segura.
