This article is just for my mother Margaret, a very young 80.
Göbekli Tepe Turkey.
Apparently 12,000 years old they say.
The site is filled with intrigue, we just do not know, we can only guess.
A link or 2.

There are other places I would love to see should the convid insanity subside and governments go and crawl under some rocks, where they belong.
How about doors so big you could not close them?
Petra.
Location Jordan.
Brief guide. = https://www.history.com/topics/ancient-middle-east/petra
Derinkuyu's underground city. Turkey.
"Hidden for centuries right under everyone's noses, Derinkuyu is just the largest of hundreds of underground complexes built by we're-not-sure-who-exactly around the eighth century B.C. To understand just what's so phenomenal about this feat of engineering, imagine someone handing you a hammer and chisel and telling you to go dig out a system of underground chambers capable of sustaining 20,000 people. And not one of those fancy modern chisels, either -- we're talking about something dug with whatever excavating tools they had 2,800 years ago."
Teotihuacán. Mexico.

Mesa Verde.
Link with more places = https://listverse.com/2012/11/26/10-incredible-places-carved-from-rock/
Sigiriya.
A particularly interesting place, to me at least.
25 amazing places = https://www.touropia.com/ancient-ruins-of-the-world/
I hope the links keep some people amused and give food for thought.
We have done it all before, Egypt and all the pyramids around the world speak volumes, so do the under water cities.
Graham Hancock covers these places and subjects well.
This is a post/article for my superb mother. Thank you for giving me a life.
Love you mom, and I have nothing to complain about, apart from politicians, but they may be gone soon, who knows hey.
XXX
Have a superb day people, and make it the best day you can.
I almost went to Petra once - had a stopover in Jordan. But way too many complaints from people that the place is a tourist hell - nice pics without people tho!
Would have been a quickie anyway - I prefer to linger in places - unless they are tourist hell holes. lol
Turkey for me was a tourist hell hole, people trying to drag us into their shops, bars or what ever.
I could only imagine the bribery in the middle of nowhere like Petra, $20 camel ride Mr, oh we got here, $100 back Mr. Yep, but Thailand treated me a bit like that. You can look Mr but not own, well how about 49% Mr.
:-)
Also not wise to be worth more dead than alive.
Hence buying nothing is not such a bad move ;-)
True that. When I was in Pattaya I noted they had loads of private people in pickup trucks rushing to fatality scenes, sweeping the bodies up and rushing them away. Black market is it not? Dead people.
I found turkey pretty good compared to some places in Africa and Asia.
Turkey seemed to have a pretty good feel for tourism as far as I am concerned but I also went in the off season so that might be part of it.
Possibly so, in the hot season they are very pushy, but we each have our own perspectives, and places we reside, so each see places different. I would love to see where you reside, Africa, but with the current covid nonsense I will not, not until politicians gets a control on their mind again.
Things are calm here it a great time to visit actually and get away from all of that.
Nice to know, soon possibly, I shall travel again, when I have spare time.
Spacebusters did a really interesting documentary on ancient technology amongst other things. It's clear they had advanced technology in many places and times. Yeh we've done this all before, rinse and repeat. OR is time an illusion too?
Unsure, possibly it is, there are no answers to all questions, we are not smart enough to work it out, just try thinking about never ending space, how can it be never ending, what comes after it, we are not capable to understand.
I know it hurts yer brain to think about it.
Here's part one of the documentary I was on about. There are 5 parts.
Superb.
Nice I have been to 3 of these sites. Very interesting places to visit to see how people lived before us.
Superb, glad you got to see them.
So much we don't know from our past.
There are some other impossible to build places, even with the tech we have now, fascinating world bro. People need to be able to see it, not just think they are going to die of a common cold. I know you know the score anyway.
Agreed 💯%
So many incredible places to visit. Hey if you are interested in Ancient History… even your own family you should do one of the DNA tests that will show where your ancient ancestors come from. They have a sale on at Family Tree DNA for $59 that will give you a map showing your ancient origins … mine came back as mostly European… Italy, France, Germany but also 2% Native American and a small % Jewish … I got my parents to do theirs to get more detail … they are both in their 80’s… my mom is 4 % Native American (Ojibwe) and both have a small % of Jewish… Ashkenazi, Sephardic and Mizrahi … now I want to find out where that comes from…. I have a bunch of Germans in my Tree that must have been crypto (secret) or Converso Jewish

Not into the DNA thing bud, my mom did a family tree search years ago, still got it somewhere. English/Irish descent but who knows tbh, the UK was invaded so many times I could be Danish or Roman. All just people at the end of the day.
I identify as human and being, till I breathe no more.
Excellent. I’m into Archaeology and ancient history. I was on an Archaeological dig in France a few years ago. We found some treasures, and artifacts of King Herod when he was exiled to Southern France after the crucifixion event.
Superb, how did you find France? Last time I was there it seemed super expensive, but that was Paris, and London is the same.
Well… It was a few years ago now … I flew into Paris, spent one night at a Hostel then took a Train to Toulouse, spent one night there … then another train to St Bertrand de Comminges (Lugdunum) at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains. It was all expenses paid by the Univeristy of Ottawa since I was there to make drawings of the ancient Roman Ruins built by the Emporer Pompeii. We met up with some Treasure hunters in search of the Holy Grail … they had discovered a stash of gold artifacts beneath the Cathedral, built on top of an ancient Roman Temple, built in top of an very ancient Temple of a Water Cult. … the area has natural hot springs so the indigenous people had built temples around them.

Intriguing, it cost a small fortune for me to drive through France to Spain, I drove to Poland from there, never went near a toll road on the way here(Poland), saved a load of money, but took 36 hours with no sleep. Longest drive in my life time.
Then this , a christian church from way before the time of Jesus ,... carved out of rock ,.. ? ,.. with design features that come from rules applied for building with wood .
A mystery impossible to explain in any way . ;-)

I bet your underground building, and raise you a mystery, do you call or fold? https://www.ancient-origins.net/ancient-places-asia/kailasa-temple-0010379
Ha' ,.. then ill put the book off Enoch and the Sumerian clay tablets on the table ,..
for a certain win ;-)
Sumerian tablets? I accept your tablets and raise you Scorpion I’s Tomb Hieroglyphs.
