July 7th, 2020: MUTE It — Pondering Blurt's Immediate Problem...

in mute •  4 years ago

Greetings all!

The only way to look at Blurt in a way that makes sense is to used the MUTE button.

If you don't know how to mute someone, you just go to their profile page and click "MUTE" at upper right, and suddenly the whole picture becomes a little less annoying.

I think today would be considered "Day 3" of this new venue.

Doesn't seem like a lot has changed since yesterday, so I'll keep waiting and watching.

A Challenging Problem...

Blurt's immediate hurdle — in terms of every getting public traction — is going to be that anyone who hears about Blurt, or sees a link to Blurt someone and follows it?

They will not see the "filtered" view of the site. As a result of which, the likelihood anyone would actually make an account would tend towards zero.

The only immediate workaround I can think of is to have a perpetually pinned "How to mute content you don't want to see" post.

Aside from that, I guess all we can do is wait and watch...

Now I just wish that the posts we have made would actually show up on our profile pages. This is my 3rd post, but so far I can only see one post on my profile.

Early days yet!

If anyone is alive, leave me a comment!

Hi, @denmarkguy!
Your presence here gives me hope because you understand what is happening. So I'm watching what you say next about this place. Not even my first post can be seen in my profile page, I can only find it by tag.
Thanks for the tips!

Sadly, I don't really know what's happening, more than just having been through these cycles of new web sites before.

Seems now our posts are finally listing on our profile pages, and the wallets are working... so that's a good beginning.
