There is something incredibly satisfyingly first finding the smallest mushrooms out there and then being able to catch them on the photograph.
The few cm tall guys become giants on the screen and we can finally see all the details and shapes. Now they cannot hide anything. Finding them is the hardest part here though.
I did spot a few among the mosses even though I was terribly distracted by the bigger and colorful ones (I shot them too!).
The ones above have incredibly thin, hair-like legs and the hats are just a few mm across. Judging by their very delicate form they probably grow fast and die even faster. There have been plenty faded ones around too. After some only the skinny leg was left.
On the photo below you can see one (or not :p) on the left. The main mushrooms were obviously bigger, but still quite small.
And as I was almost rolling on the ground with my elbows stuck in the moss, this dude just kept making noise (I actually enjoy hearing them in the woods). I could hear him for a while, but couldn't locate him. This time he came to check on the tree closer to me and I finały saw him.
A beautiful, big, woodpecker.
Can you see the red feathers on his tail?***
Zoom... How about now?
Back to mushrooms... let him do his job. There were plenty of the little orange ones around. All popping from the gereen moss.
I was done with the little guys (in this sot anyway), and he was still up there
