So Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter.
As a result of this a great number of people are all atwitter (pun intended) over the whole issue of free speech.
And the Irony Prize Goes to.....
Of course mainstream media is very upset by that possibility because it would mean that they somehow will lose a significant part of their control over the public narrative. And ultimately this is all an issue about controlling the narrative and who controls the narrative.
It's easy to default to this merely being yet another battle between the liberals and the conservatives; the left and the right… but what few people ever seem willing to stop and look at is that free speech applies to everybody, if you're actually going to go so far as to declare it free speech.
And, of course, that's where the whole thing starts to derail.
The left seems to think that everybody is too childish and immature and stupid to be autonomously responsible for interpreting the information they're given which, of course, is false.
On the other hand, the right seems to think that everybody is so adult and mature that they can dissect and understand relevant information on their own no matter how unfiltered and heinous it may be... which is equally false.
Cognitive blindness and bias doesn't care where you live, on the socio-political and philosophical spectrum.
To use a metaphor, it makes no sense to have a football game that has so many rules that you get all bogged down in the rules and never actually get around to playing the game…
On the other hand, it also makes no sense to have a football game that has absolutely NO rules, in which people could bring tanks, RPGs and machine guns onto the field and gun down the opposition because there are no rules, so it's allowed.
Of course there are also those who will say that free speech that it should be completely free "because actual words can't hurt people, because they are just words" which is also abject bullshit. If you look back across the history of humanity: wars don't start because somebody walks up and punches somebody else in the nose, they tend start because somebody said something another person didn't like... aka words have power.
Although I am not necessarily an Elon Musk groupie, at this point I am rooting for him to somehow be able to take control of twitter.
Will he stand to make LOTS more money? Sure... but I think a privatized twitter would be Free-ER than it is now.
Thanks for reading, and have a great remainder of your week!

I do not trust that guy. I smell controlled opposition, or worse, a catalyzing event. Musk is a snake.
So how could this go? (I'm just thinking out loud here, responding to your post.) Those people who only get their info from MSM sources might peruse other info but, at this point, they've been conditioned to dismiss anything that does not fit the government/corporate/fascist narratives. Battles will ensue online, deepening the divide. The opposing factions will identify each other irl, and battles will spill over into the streets, bringing in forceful restraint, martial law,
We need free speech, no matter the information, that is not brought to us by snakes. No information is as dangerous as our current lack of access to information is.
This. I was asked the other day about my thoughts on this by phusionphil and I will repeat here what I said there.
Yup. His function in the whole show is to reel in a great many of those who are onto the deception, and to feed them a new more dangerous one, along with all the already zombified humans. This is but another move in the great reset, preplanned, part of the further enslavement of the human, body and mind. The worst of this is the hope that it has given so many of us. Worship, yes, he is being worshipped. Very dangerous!!!
Way back when, I was one of the last people I know to get a CD player, and a cell phone and various other things... even so, I do want to kick in here that "technology is just technology" (much like information is just information) and the real question is who does what with it. Moreover, who manipulates it to their own ends in such a way it impinges on someone else's reality?
A device like that is brilliant if the only usages were medical and could make paraplegics walk again, and reverse the effects of dementia and Alzheimers. Would you not want that?
On the other hand, it's a royal shitshow as a mind control device in the hands of an evil dictator.
The technology itself just does what it is programmed to do. And I say that as someone who's a chronically late adopter of new technology.
But I am somewhat digressing.
We live in a world that pretty much never has consensus, just a cornucopia of different opinions about reality and how things are. Almost everything is the classic parable of "the seven blind men describing an elephant."
Which makes the whole issue of freedom of information and people and their agendas a truly tough nut to crack!
The issue is that they demonstrate they do use it to enslave folks and further box us in.
Take a TV for example. Nowadays good luck finding one that isn't a smart (code for spying) TV. Which means it comes with a camera so it can watch you. I joked when they first came out, why does my TV need to watch me?
Same with streaming devices. it's hard to find one that doesn't have a microphone (for your convenience of course, lol). Amazon has already been busted hiring a whole crew of transcribers as an example to convert recordings their Alexa has been recording. I ended up with an old school Roku, although I've hear they are now trying to push streaming devices to have the microphones as well.
I read an article a day or two ago on wikileaks discussing how the ocmputers in our cars can be hacked by the intelligence community. Means others can as well if they can.
I also note that my car when I began buying it three years ago came with the onstar as an added feature that I declined. However, I would be shocked that even with my declining of it as a service that it still is listening and recording.
I could go on, but suffice it to say with all the evil programs government and big business has been caught doing for many many years I never see any of this as a good thing. The corner just keeps getting smaller.
And I don't see it as a "good thing" either, from a personal perspective.
We have very minimal devices and the ones we do have are always turned off (unplugged) rather than on "standby" when we're not using them.
Yeah, good point! My wife and I like to joke that our TV would only "turn us on" if it needed something more boring than the Internal Revenue Code to help it go to sleep!
Kidding aside, the thing I do try to stay cognizant of is the fact that there are millions of people in the world who would wholeheartedly embrace the idea of having a skull implant that could give them 500 channels of on-demand TV streaming directly to their brains... they honestly don't give a damn about anything other than being entertained.
My point being that "taking the red pill" may be the only answer for you and I, but lots of people want the blue pill... and for us to insist that they should take the red pill is no less arrogant than for Elon Musk to pretend that everyone wants his technology.
Life is eternally complex... which is why I remain mostly a hermit.
I'm not only cognizant of it, but fear the full ramifications of this.
The masses not only embrace many things I would go out of my way to avoid, but seem to believe they have the right to insist I participate. The covid shot is an example.
My son and I have had two heated conversations over it now. The first time when he told me he felt the government had the right to arrest, strap down and force the injection on all who refuse. Of course this didn't play out well between us. I even wrote on it years ago when I was on Hive.
https://hive.blog/blog/@practicalthought/when-neighbors-and-family-demand-a-not-so-civil-war
On Easter was round two. I just moved and things have been difficult. Still looking for a job at that time (I believe I have one now, just waiting for the final nod) and mentioned I couldn't do courier work here because I don't have the injection. He used that as an opportunity to begin lecturing me that this was yet another reason to get one.
He talked over me as I explained I didn't trust them, that I've had Covid twice and have natural antibodies, that there are documented harmful side effects, that it doesn't stop one from getting it or passing it on etc.
He just kept talking over me, the disdain in his voice growing as he culminated with he couldn't believe how ignorant I was and believing things he has been told is disinformation even though every bit of what I said is acknowledged by even the pro vaccine so called experts.
I finally had enough and told him it was ironic that he felt i was the ignorant one as all I heard him spewing like a cult member was ignorance.
He ended up hanging up on me, and that is how my Easter call went with my son. I love him, but his ability to disregard the rights of another over something a sacred as their own body autonomy means that if a war was to break out over this, we would be across from one another as I mention in that post I shared.
My hope is Blurt will one day allow me to be a hermit as well.
I am so grateful none of my three adult children have done this to me. That must be terribly frightening for you to see in your son.
I do NOT want this technology. I don't know why anyone would, when the question of WHY people develop this type of illness in the first place is being written off to bad genetics, bad luck, bad viruses and bad bacteria (did I miss anything?), and the true causes of illness are being injected into our flesh from the moment we draw our first breaths in this realm.

No. I do not want that. I think that is a preposterous waste of our money. I'd rather they find a way to stop paraplegia in the first place, which is highly likely paralysis from the chemicals they start pumping into our bodies on our first day on earth, and teach us the goodness in living in a chemical soup of toxins. In water, in food, in clothing, in air, in cash register receipts, spraying down from overhead.
We have been led to believe that nature (genetics, pure chance, viruses, bacteria...) is the enemy, but our oil/chemicals/plastics/war/medical system (they are all one) is making us sick, and they know it. This new technology is their latest product, Musk is market development.
Here is the danger

OMG the FDA already authorized this for use in humans!!! SAY WHAT?!!!
Yes, for testing. But I guarantee you they have been testing this tech for decades based on just the video I showed by Dr. Delgado. The only difference being is that after many decades of research they have perfected it in ways that are frightening.
I used to blog on the southern border crossings as I was an hour from that border. Many coming across that border are done so to be used for sex slavery, organ harvesting and of course illegal human experimentation. When one is dealing in that dark world, the best subjects are those no one will ever look for because no one knows they were here.
oh! Of course, makes sense, and dems are the party that want this, that are looking away from the problem. omg I am reaching the limit of what I can bear here.
It's definitely troubling to consume these truths. I know it hasn't made my heart any lighter, and my partner every now and again will grow angry for me for wishing to discuss some of this. Probably part of why I'm drawn to blogging. I can at least find others who understand and can share things to tie things together. It's necessary to have an outlet when one begins going down these holes of truth.
Well, he may be a snake, but he's not the first snake... if you look at his business pattern, he's very much oriented towards taking existing ideas/technologies and making them large scale: PayPal, Tesla, Space-X, Starlink. He didn't invent any of these things...
And therein lies one of the great dilemmas... because you pretty much have to be a deranged megalomaniac snake to reach the point of information domination that allows for a very broad reach.

I like Elon I find him neutral and acting for himself my bf thinks he’s controlled opposition. Who knows hey
I would agree that he's mostly acting on an opportunity to increase his own visibility and wealth... which is pretty much how all his ventures work. I don't think he has the same kind of "evil streak" as a Bill Gates, for example... I think he just wants to be a "space cowboy."
I agree I feel like sometimes he’s used by the evil and sometimes used by the good because he’s a neutral character but I don’t think he’s one of the major players but hey maybe I’m wrong
Last time I checked the board was looking into ways to limit his buy of Twitter shares... Any news on that?
Seems the board activated a so-called "poison pill," meaning that when Musk has 15% of all stock existing stock, existing shareholders will be allowed to add to their stakes at a discount, making it very expensive for his bid to go further because the Board of Directors of twitter will have to approve his owning more than 15% of the shares... which they will likely not do.
