This week I’m talking #Music & 1997!
Ten songs that make us think of 1997!
I start by listing five that are favorites of mine personally then go on with big 1997 hits! Also I talk some of the tunes and also get deep into a couple bands that didn’t put out music for 4-6 years and missed a great chance to put out new music in 1997 (or 1998) such as Weezer , No Doubt & Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Songs That Make Me Think
Of 1997Bands That Should Of Put Out Records
In 1997 or 1998 (Weezer & No Doubt)Deep Cuts
Below are some of the songs I discussed which are the essential 1997 nostalgia picks!
I ended up adding a few extras after I finished recording. 1997 was a good year! A couple were released in 1996 but those picks didn’t get play until summer 97 or so!
Band - Blink 182
Song - Dammit (1997)
Band - Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Song - Impression That I Get (1997)
Band - Everclear
Song - Everything To Everyone (1997)
Band - Third Eye Blond
Song - Semi Charmed Life (1997)
Band - Foo Fighters
Song - Everlong (1997)
Band - Green Day
Song - Time Of Your Life (1997)
Band - The Verve Pipe
Song - Freshmen (1996)
Band - Blur
Song - Song 2 (1997)
Band - Wallflowers
Song - One Headlight (1996)
Band - Matchbox 20
Song - Push (1996)
Band - Sheryl Crow
Song - A Change Would Do You Good
(1996)
Originally I was only going to list five songs not ten or eleven so I won’t make this following part long but I wanted to post a couple bands that didn’t get mainstream play in 1997 that I think should of.
Band - MxPx
Album - Life In General (November 1996)
Two sample tracks ⬇️
This record in my opinion should have have produced a single as big as Blink 182’s Dammit. Not like number one on charts but at least some solid MTV Play & Alternative radio play.
Then one more is ⬇️
Band - Less Than Jake
Album - Loosing Streak (1996)
Two sample tracks ⬇️
Again I don’t see it on the top 5 on pop charts or anything like that, but Less Than Jake also I think should of got more play similar to Mighty Mighty Bosstones & Reel Big Fish did all over MTV & Alternative radio.
I’ll leave it here! 1997 was a packed year! I could talk 50 albums both underground and mainstream but that would take far 2 long! I will see ya’ll next #NinetiesFriday 💿
Eh gotta mention one more! Reel Big Fish 1997 album did some some mainstream play. You might of heard this song on MTV in 1997 ⬇️
Even has a cameo from Goldfinger!
Speaking of Goldfinger! Gotta give them some love! ⬇️
Have a great weekend everybody!
