I am not advertising for a phone or camera here, but don’t you think that students of mass media (I am one of them) will benefit greatly from this technology? Of course, cameras are the biggest USP of phones these days, but did you ever think or even imagine that a phone camera could shoot an entire film and then release it on the OTP Platform? Yes, it has happened now.
We have been watching various phone brands try different technologies to give users some unique camera quality. But the OnePlus 9 Pro has taken a step forward with a superb camera, and it’s quite evident as I watched the film "2024" online on Disney Hotstar, which is part of my phone plan.
That’s right, they entirely shot this movie in 2024 on the OnePlus 9 Pro phone camera. The producer released the feature movie online on November 23, 2021 at midday (IST).
Okay, some of us felt the movie is short in length, but all you need to do is head over to Disney+Hotstar and watch this experimental movie, even if it’s not a full-fledged movie, but its length is one hour, which is not bad for an OTT platform.
What is "2024" all about?
First of all, let me introduce the popular Indian director, Vikramaditya Motwane, in collaboration with OnePlus. The film is all about four friends stuck in a strange city. They are left with only two options: to try to find a way to escape or die trying, simple as that.

The big question is whether they will escape or die, but before answering that, let me add that the Indian cinema industry has seen many experiments in recent years, especially during the pandemic era. This phone camera experiment is one of the many experiments that this exciting movie has to offer.
Let’s give it to the director of the movie, Rohin Nair, for the action packed drama for the producers, Motwane and Big Bad Wolf Studios and Odd & Even Productions, to come up with this thrilling story.
As for the cast of the movie, it boasts a cast of young and talented actors, including Muskkaan Jasferi (Padma) and Mayur More (Murali). These two are already popular for their roles in Netflix TV series (They did popular shows Mismatched and Kota Factory) respectively. The other actors include Tejasvi Singh Ahlawat (Shobhita), Sharul Bhardwaj (Jatin), and Mihir Ahuja (Danny).
A short summary of what to expect in the movie: It’s all about a muted virus that turns this Indian city into a "City of Death.". Everyone wants to escape from this death zone. The four friends are left with the choice of catching the last train from the city, but they are unable to find each other. You must see the movie to find out what happens.
