When a star agent who was presumed dead returns with a grudge and insatiable hunger for revenge, he would do everything possible to uncover every secret that brought to his ruin and the death of his partners. There is a traitor amongst them...but who?
Trust me, following a series involving a secret agency, organisations, big gangs et al can be complicated especially if you are not so used to this kind of story line as they tend to have very strong storyline and characters. The Veil, gives you a break in through the National Intelligence Service(NIS) Organisation where secret missions are embarked on, friends becomes traitors and foes becomes allies.
Star agent Han Ji Hyuk, becomes the mad dog of the NIS after his return with some of his memories wiped, as he embarks on a mission of his own to unravel the mystery behind the death of his partners and his memory loss. We would be taken through a course of background stories to update us on what led to that eaxct moment. At first, it might feel a bit confusing as you would try piece one and two together, but as the story unfolds you begin to get a clearer picture.
I have always been a fan of movies and series that has to do with unravelling mysteries, piecing puzzles together to make sense of the situation...basically make me think, give me a twist, just keep my mouth opened lol. Yeah, it gives me the thrill as I go on scene after scene trying to figure out what the heck is going on. It makes me feel involved...like an adrenaline rush, weird maybe lol. The Veil happen to be holding on that, it keeps you glued to the screen so as not to miss any detail, what the protagonist would do next...would he fall in the trap or smell the rat? It gives you the thrill and captures your attention from the start of the episode.
Even though it is an ongoing series with just 4 episodes in, it has already captured the attention of many viewers with high ratings....especially with Namgoong Min as the main cast following his last drama "Awaken" which was a success. I think I fell in love with him after that drama series, I mean he has an amazing strong character. He is hard to read, a stubborn yet lovable character....he just grows on you. So having him on this one gives a good interpretation of what to expect in this drama. There are also good actors like, Park Ha Sun, Kim Ji Eun, Jang Young Nam, Kim Jong Tae, Kim Do Hyun amongst many other and was directed by Kim Sung Yong.
Who is the traitor?
What are these missing memories?
I think it is very early to conclude on the turn this series might take, however, so far so good it has not disappointed. There are a lot of questions to be answered, secrets and mysteries to unravel, shots to be fired and orders to be ignored. So I'd just hold on to my pop-corn and hope it gives a good ride through the rest of the episodes. Did I forget to mention the action? Yeah, you definitely get to see some action too.
Is it your type of TV series to watch? If it is, you might as well jump in the train and enjoy the ride.
