‘Everything Everywhere all at once’ explores the concept of the multiverse and parallel lives with the use of black comedy, good acting, kung fu and surrealism. We’ve seen a few movies and TV shows explore this theme in recent years so perhaps multidimensionality is something humanity as a collective society is ready to embrace. After all this is a natural function of the evolved human. This movie will especially appeal to all those on the path of self improvement, yoga and consciousness exploration. I get the feeling the writers must be familiar with psychedelics, meditation or plant medicines as this movie feels like a consciousness journey in parts. I love the bravery of this movie, it gets crazier as it progresses and never takes the foot off the pedal. A wild ride that relies on clever narrative, great editing & cinematic techniques plus fantastic performances from the cast rather than the bloated CGI fests that we are used to in Marvel movies.
There’s an intricate attention to detail with jokes and plot elements connecting latter in the movie.
This is one to catch in theatres now rather than wait for steaming. This is an experience for the big screen plus it’s nice to support independent movies. If nothing else it’s worth watching for the original humour.
VERDICT: One of the best movies in years, a must see. The spiritual successor to the Matrix franchise. This is what happens AFTER you take the red pill.
