La Ira de Dios - The wrath of GOD

I like to watch suspense, horror and sci-fi movies late at night, for some reason I can't understand. If I can determine that the films I have determined in my preliminary research on the genres are suitable for the genres I mentioned, I will make a note next to them when adding them to my watch list; In the form of "watch at night" or "watch late at night!"

La Ira de Dios, directed by Sebastián Schindel, is one of the thriller movies that I added to my list beforehand and dropped the "watch at night" information note. Only two characters stand out in the movie, and the gripping effect of the movie is displayed through two characters.

The two characters I mentioned and the actors who give life to the characters;

Klobster (Diego Peretti) and Luciana (Macarena Achaga)

Klobster is a famous writer and Luciana was his assistant for a time. Luciana, whose task is to write only what the author says with the keyboard, is the factor that makes such a simple task begin the events that will turn her next life into hell. To avoid spoilers, I'm not going to talk about the chain of events after the movie and how they unfolded.

The initial impression of the movie reminded me of the second movie in the "Poison Ivy" series that I watched years ago. However, I must add that the passion and sexuality in that movie are not handled enough in La Ira de Dios. Instead, we witness a series of extinctions around prominent characters.

I must state that while watching the movie, I entered two crossroads in thought. The first way is that Klobster ruined the life of his former assistant, Luciana. In this case, we see Klobster's success in adapting not only the writer but also the imagination he uses in his writings to real life. When I consider it from such an angle; I wouldn't be wrong if I said he was the devil for the character of Klobster.

The second way is Luciana's point of view that Klobster has ruined her life. Because Luciana is indirectly the character who ruined Klobster's life. You may notice why I said indirectly, not directly, while watching the movie. There will be a difference between hurting someone intentionally and hurting someone indirectly, but the result will not change the fact that someone was hurt.

La Ira de Dios, which I think is perfect in terms of script, may not fully feel the tension due to the inadequacy of the actors and the director. The expectation is that it reflects more tension and excitement than such a scenario. But I watched the movie as dubbed in my own language. Sometimes, when the film moves away from its original language, it fails to reflect tension or fear.

Personally, I'm not looking for the good guy or the bad guy in movies, but for this movie, I have to put Luciana on the good guy side. Authors have a wide imagination and their imagination is impressive in determining the next steps. If I had to make an enemy suitable for the movie in real life; I would prefer that my enemy not be a writer. lol.

La Ira de Dios is a 2022 Argentine film. I definitely recommend watching it. Whether your stance is for Luciana or for Klobster, I think it will be worth your time. Although I find the acting somewhat inadequate, the success in the script manages to make the film watchable.

And in turn, it manages to make us feel the pain of losing it loved ones one by one.
