There are times when one might want to overshadow the other. Life isn't balance and it is applicable to all aspects of day-to-day life. Sometimes, we plan to achieve something but it doesn't work out as planned, we would feel disappointed and hurt that we were unable to achieve our goals.

On the other hand, there are times when we set some goals with high expectations and even before we start making moves it is already a success - we would be happy and celebrate our big wins with friends and family. This is how the world we live in is wired - there are always ups and down.

Let us learn from the words of Robert Brault, an author who said that "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." Lauryn Hill, an American singer and actress also opines that "Everything we do should be a result of our gratitude for what God has done for us." These are some words to show us that in any condition we find ourselves in life, we should be full of gratitude. Gratitude is like a door that makes us see happiness in the midst of our challenges. Douglas Wood said that "The heart that gives thanks is a happy one, for we cannot feel thankful and unhappy at the same time."

WHAT AM I GRATEFUL FOR?

Everything!

I'm grateful for the gift of life. I'm grateful for the ability to hear, smell, speak, walk, think, jump, run, comprehend, feel and so on.

One thing I'm always grateful to God for is having somewhere to come back to after the days work. I always thank God for providing me shelter, a place where I can lay my head and sleep. A place where I don't have to bother about the scorching sun during the day and the heavy rain falls at night.

There are some people out there who do not have a place to call their home. They don't have a roof over their head. I'm always grateful and thankful to God when I realize how good he has been to me and my family. It is not because we are worthy of his providence but it's by his grace and mercy upon us.

Shelter is one of the necessities of life and it would be quite difficult to live a good life if you don't have a roof above your head. I'm grateful for so many things but this is one of the top of my gratitude list.
I have seen in the news how families run helterskelter to seek for help when their houses gets flooded. Or even when the government decide to demolish some buildings which are termed illegal because they didn't get an approval or follow the right plan. The pain, agony and helplessness is not what I'd wish my worst enemy. So, when I look back and see how God has been providing shelter for me I am always grateful.

I use this opportunity to pray for everyone that lack good shelter that God will visit them and provide for their needs according to his riches in glory. Amen.
