There is never one day that can be dedicated to Mothers. Lately I have written a lot about Parenting and Motherhood and here today is the special day also to celebrate Motherhood. It is celebrated on different dates in different parts of the world. While I am away from my Mom on this day, I have tried to do something to make her feel special. I have not had a very special bond or a strong connection with her in my growing up. But as an adult I have been able to connect with her and somewhere revived the bond with her. Not that my Father is also not there who was my Mother and Father, I do miss his presence and somewhere feel that it is good to compromise with whatever the childhood situations were and be in cordial relationship with my mother.
It is always good to make her feel a little special whenever I can. She stays with my sister back in India and 2 months in a year she stays with me in Muscat. It gives her also a change and I also get to spend some time with her which I missed in childhood.
I sent her some gifts for this beautiful day. A Cake, a Jade plant, A frame with our family picture and a Rose fragrance perfume. It was delivered to them today and she loved all of the gifts.
This is the family picture that I put in the frame for her. It is my family and my sister's. All our children have grown up and it will be a beautiful memory for her to treasure with the whole family in one frame.
That was for my mom and then my son is also there who is a very loving boy and never misses to pamper me. He has been going through a low period as of now and I am feeling bad for him, but then I do understand it is his journey that he needs to sail through. He called me in the morning and we had a nice long chat. He is my medical advisor as well and, in this year, he has helped me a lot moved towards a better health in many ways. He mentioned that his gift is pending, but I am not even looking for that, all I want is that the bond we share stays forever. Because that is the most important thing a mother wants, love and care from her children.
I do not believe that he puts up all those fancy pictures and messages on social media showing his love for him. It is between me and him and the feeling that speaks everything about the bond. These days both of us are almost cut off from social media as well so that's one good thing, no show business. I feel blessed at this stage of life to have love of both my mother and my son and feel that every day is a Mother's Day for me.
