Crypto, Russia, Banking, and my Thoughts on The Future of Money

By now everyone has heard about what's going on in Ukraine. In a world overflowing with propaganda and "fake" news. I'll leave it up to you to decide on right/wrong and everyone is entitled to their opinions.

One thing that seems pretty clear is that financial sanctions have been put on Russia. Russian people who comprise of mostly regular old folks trying to get by and take care of their families are now having to deal with a backlash from the international community.

Whether the Russian is a business owner that manufactures "green" solar panels, is 100% against the war, and maybe their dream is to immigrate to America....it doesn't matter. They are now suddenly kicked out the SWIFT payment system.

Maybe an international business account has been frozen, maybe some other type of sanction related complication is harming their business and finances. So, not only the Russian business man will have to use an alternative to conduct business, the person/entity on the other end of the deal will have to use an alternative method too.

China has not imposed any sanctions on Russia to my knowledge, maybe all international deals will have to go through the Yuan first then the Ruble, like the US dollar is used to buy oil internationally (the petro dollar). Maybe Russia will introduce a new system parallel to the SWIFT system. Or maybe it will all just go through crytpo, bitcoin most likely.

One thing I know for sure, is that Russia and Ukraine combined are top producers in a number of commodities including oil, natural gas, and wheat. Interesting how all three are up and up significantly. Nations made up of people like you and I are going to want cheap energy and bread. They will find a way to get it, they almost always do.

In conclusion, these very sanctions from the west upon Russia, do not come without consequences and side effects for all. It seems pretty clear that if you block the path of least resistance ie. the SWIFT system, the money will just flow through another corridor. Just another reason to own and hold some of the major crypto currencies as I believe they are about to become even more important for international trade settlement.
