So as people have already seen, the US Mint has began issuing the new 2022 American Women Quarters. These Quarters primarily exemplify the great achievements of American Women from various different backgrounds. The one that you have already seen if you check your change is the Maya Angelou quarters. There will be many others as this program will last several years and each year there will be five different quarters with different women and their achievements.
For the 2022 American Women Quarters, I've decided to start planning which ones I want to keep. My primary focus is to keep some of Maya Angelou and Nina Otero-Warren quarters. For Sally Ride, I will be keeping EVERY single one of those quarters because I am a fan of space related events. As for the other two, Wilma Mankiller and Anna May Wong, I don't know too much about them to really fell invested in keeping a collection of those quarters. Maybe I'll keep one or two if I get lucky enough to find them without spending money to buy them.
Honestly, I was kind of hoping that the Crossing The Delaware quarters or the Washington Quarters were going to remain the main quarters for 2022, but it seem that the US Mint has other plans. It's kind of a bummer but its nice to see that women of all backgrounds are getting some recognition on US currency.
Will you be collecting any of these new coins?
