Some people come to Blurt for the Money. 💰

Warning : This post is meant as a sarcastic commentary around the ongoing discussion regarding the problem with the Trending page…

Some people come to Blurt for the money.

Some people have no interest in money.

People that are not interested in money should not complain about the people that are interested in the money.

People that are not interested in the money should just mute the people that are interested in the money.

Money is the root of all evil.

It is a bazaar paradox that both types of users find a place here because of the vision this platform represents.

How do you tell a person's true motivations unless you are inside their brain?

There are users dedicated to quality.
There are users dedicated to attention.
There are users dedicated to money.

Quality translates into attention which often translates into money.

When you focus on any of the below aspects in the pyramid and attempt to make content specifically for money or attention you lose out.

If you make content that is quality with a focus on quality you will always get attention and therefore will always make money.

So there are layers to this pyramid of content creation and all users fit somewhere on this spectrum.

Human behaviour is not a simple thing and platforms like Blurt endeavor to reveal ourselves to ourselves. What fun we have in discovering the nuances of the human.

May we all wake the fuck up soon. lol

Peace out,

Monty

Wow! This is it. The pyramid says it all and I can't agree less to this reality. Thanks for this priceless insight.

No worries. Hopefully Blurt can be a change. The foundation of the blockchain needs to be chagned to suit a content driven platform however. This is hard to implement considering it is money that buys the computers and the servers that run it and money that often motivates people to get involved on a blockchain idea like this.

On Hive someone commented to me that the social media aspect should be a layer two thing because it eliminates a lot of the issues with reward driven content. Maybe this is a start of the solution.

It requires some daring entrepreneurs to break new bounds and try something completely new without money necessarily as their key motivation.

Truth be told, incentives have always been a fundamental driving force for entrepreneurs. But reassessing our values for a quality content driven blockchain is expedient at this moment. For us to stand out as a blockchain then, having a rethink is non-negotiable. Cheers!

I liked that one! 🤙🍀🌞

I have learned a fuckload on this Steem, Hive and now Blurt journey - and about people and myself and what works as governance and what doesn't - it's added to my experience of community. I will say I am glad for the experiences even though I can't say that any one of these platforms are really achieving 'the dream'.

Maybe Blurt can be different. Let's see. 😉

What a fun experiment to be a part of

Steem failed because of Justin Sun, Hive is now failing because of crazy downvote whales... Maybe it will be better here...??? We will see...
