I believe these movies are meant to teach us that domination and rebellion are fantasies, and so, unlikely. We can't recognize our condition, because we have been told that it only happens in movies with far fetched themes.

Well, sure but I think you have to keep things in perspective. We aren't quite to the point where lords are claiming the right of prima nocta. Rebellions have high costs. Very high. Tyrants can get away with tyranny provided those costs aren't higher than rebellion. That's why you aren't marching on your nation's capital right now I assume.
Right now, political opposition is still within the realm of possibility. People need to act in that regard while they still can.
Medical martial law has been instated fr quite some time. They do not need to call prima nocta...they have went around the night and are working in broad daylight.
