Calm Down
Don't Worry
Don't Hurry
Trust the Process"

A common complaint with many people on Meditation is I cannot focus. Mind keeps wondering.
Our Mind is like a monkey, it likes to keep jumping all the time from one thought to another, from one emotion to another. It just does not want to rest in one place, and this is where the whole problem lies. Past, present, future everything comes to mind when we sit to meditate.
The biggest mistake we make is to think that Meditation is an activity, and we try to do it as an activity where we keep failing. There are so many different ways to Meditate. We can walk and meditate, we can mediate while doing some hobby like painting, or any other art form, we can be doing cooking and meditating, we can be cleaning our dishes and meditating. Meditation is just about being in the present in complete awareness.
We do not need to sit still in one place to meditate, although that form of Meditation is the best, bringing complete stillness, but then that is not the only form. More important is bringing stillness to the mind, if that is achieved then one can be in a Meditative state all the time. Being in the present moment, where we have our complete awareness in that particular moment, just doing this will help to be in meditation. A walk in the nature with complete awareness of the surroundings, being in gratitude and love this is the best form of Meditation.
Inhale Love, Peace, Joy, Abundance, Gratitude....Exhale stress, worry, fear...
Meditation is not some tedious activity that one has to struggle with, but yes when we force our self to do something trying hard then it definitely becomes a struggle. It's an easy flow that one has to enjoy, and when we start enjoying our every present moment that is the best meditative state one can be in. I can lie down listening to music and enjoy that moment in full meditative state, or I can also do candle gazing bringing complete focus and awareness in that moment. I can do some art work and create a harmony in my mind. All these are different ways of Meditation.
Coming to that part of Meditation where we want to sit down for a fixed time and Meditate. Yes, it does get difficult in the beginning if one is not used to sitting quiet, just not by speaking but quiet in mind as well. We see that all the possible thoughts come in those moments only. Even things like what am I going to cook, wear, do, or this one said this or I need to do this task, kind of all the thoughts rush to our mind in that moment and we struggle not to think.
We need to remember just one thing, Meditation is all about bringing awareness, so the moment we get these thoughts, we should not force ourself to not think, because if we force to stop something, all the more it will come back in many folds, and the mind will keeping galloping from one thought to another. One has to mindfully allow these thoughts to pass. When a thought comes, in awareness think this does not serve any purpose at this very moment and let it pass, with every thought coming to mind, bring this awareness. It will take some time, but gradually the mind will settle down. It's like conditioning your mind that these thoughts are not important right now and they can wait for later.
Let the energy flow smoothly
The other thing one can do is again the same concept of bringing complete awareness, but some people struggle as to how to do this, so bring the focus to your body, start listening very closely to your body in those moments, what sensations your body is getting, bring focus to every single part of the body one by one and see how you feel in that part, like finger tips, neck, hands, feet.......every part of the body is talking to us, hear that out, listen closely to the breadth, feel the rhythm of the breadth, is it too fast, is it too slow, stabilize it, understand the depth of the breadth, in all these moments one starts coming to be in a state of complete awareness. Count the inhale and exhale of each breadth, automatically the mind will slow down from other thoughts. And if one struggles with this part also, then the other forms of Meditation can also be used, like guided meditation, music meditations at different frequencies.
Meditation is being in a state of peacefulness and complete awareness with your self. It is a smooth flow of energy that one has to experience and not any sort of forced activity. If we understand this then it will never be hard to Meditate. It is not an activity, it is a process. A process of complete surrender, stillness, awareness, focus and more importantly building a strong connection with own self.

This is the best way to control emotions and release a negative aura in the body. Unfortunately, I don't do it regularly.
