The human body is made up of solids in form of our bones , muscle , organs and then we also have fluids in form of our blood , water ,saliva . Today I will be talking about the fluid part . The fluid part forks 2/3 of the body weight with 60% of body weight being made up of water . The body fluid is made up of two major compartment

  1. Extracellular fluid
  2. Intracellular fluid

EXTRACELLULAR FLUID

This refers to all the fluid found outside the cell. we know our body is made up of mainly cells and some fluids are located in between cells and these cells are called the extracellular fluid. Some ions such as sodium and chlorine can be found there , They form 20% of the 60% of body weight that is composed of fluids . Body fluids are maintained by mechanisms that regulate osmolality of the body fluids with ADH being the major hormone involved here

There are two major type of fluids found extracellularly and they are:
-Interstitial fluid
-Plasma
The difference between these two fluids is on around the cells they are found and the amount of protein they contain

interstitial fluid

This is found every type of cells except blood vessels and they are not very permeable to proteins making the amount of proteins in them not much

plasma

This refers to the extracellular fluids found around blood cells . So this is the extracellular fluid for vascular system and it contains high amount of proteins such as fetoproetin, transferrin, albumin, globulin, paraprotein, fibrinogen
There is a special type of fluid component found in the extracellular fluid which is transcellular fluid which are special fluids produced by epithelia cells in the body and some examples are cerebrospinal fluid, cochlear fluid ,

Intracellular fluid

The fluids found within the cell forming 40% of the 60% of fluid contained in the body it is composed mainly of ions such as potassium and organic phosphates

Conclusion

Body fluids are very important part of the human body cause without fluids which suspense cells we can't function effectively
