A couple of months ago, I caught wind of a game coming to the Hive blockchain. The whole concept caught me off-guard. I had played dCity and was very underwhelmed. I had looked at Splinterlands, and though I played Magic the Gathering as a kid, I am not interested in a card game, especially online. CryptoBrewMaster is not my thing and neither is HashKings or Rabona...so I felt Hive was left to basic games, or games I wasn't interested in.
I love a great car racing game! I can get lost in those for hours. PsyberX is not a driving game...however, when I first heard about it, I read about their developer, @saltyreptile. I went to their website and found that they build games. I started to think how I could get them to build a driving game on Hive...a demolition derby, in particular. The more I looked into PsyberX, though, the more I got intrigued.
My son loves Fortnite! He would play it for hours on end, if I would let him. Every time he earns money, he wants to use it on V-bucks to buy in-game items. Because it's his hard earned money, I let him buy it. The difference between PsyberX and Fortnite from what I can see is that when my son plays PsyberX, he'll be able to earn LVL and exchange it for Hive/ETH/BTC/USD. That's what I'm excited about! It's a p2e...a Play to Earn game. This means I can buy all the NFT's that will give him the edge, he can play to his heart's content, and he can get paid for playing...for having fun!
So I dove in. I bought up 1M LVL tokens by the first week of February. Nearly 2 weeks later, I've almost accumulated another 200K LVL, leaving me with 1.2M LVL. So why do I keep buying it even though I already hold over 1M LVL?
PsyberX is incentivizing its token holders with an in-game crate, which will come with 5 NFTs, each month for every 200K LVL an account holder has over a 60 day averaged period. There are only 10,000 of these limited edition crates that will be released. That means I'm setting myself up for 6 of these crates each month until their gone. By my estimates, it will take about 12 months for this supply to run its course, based on the number of whales holding LVL. Here's another kicker...PsyberX is about to release its marketplace. I don't know when, but they said they hoped to have it out by the end of Q1 2022 a couple months ago. Because it wasn't ready when they hoped it would be, they upped the payout for holding LVL...now it's 2 crates per 200K LVL held. So instead of me expecting 6 months of 6 crates each, now it will be about 5-6 months with 12 crates per month, or about 60-72 crates.
Big deal, right? What could this crate have that is so worthwhile? Well, as soon as the marketplace is released, they'll be selling standard crates for $20 USD equivalent. Those with 200K LVL or more will get them for 30% off...but just to put this into perspective, I will end up getting on the low side, 60 crates. That's $20 for a standard crate and I'll get LE crates...but we'll stick with the $20. That's $1,200 in crate value. By the way, I spent about $1500 in Hive to accumulate my nearly 1.2M LVL. I'm only about 17K LVL away. So why don't I just get the remaining 17K LVL? 1) I'm working on it and 2) https://www.proofofbrain.blog/hive-102223/@dynamicrypto/psyber-x-beatz-chain-and-thgaming-updates was just posted 3 hours ago showing they will be selling land in PsyberX, with Alpha packages at 100 HBD. So now I need to get some HBD...but I will get that 17K LVL!
There are so many great posts lately on PsyberX.
