"I remember the situation clearly, but the other, what I felt, I'm not so sure about."
She sat very still after saying this to the group of 26 Questioners. We'd been sequestered together by court order, because belonging to the Questioners, or being perceived as belonging to the Questioners, was a Crime. The thinking to rehabilitate Questioners was to put groups of under 28 in a room together and let them correct themselves. This had been shown to produce the best results - the group would always settle into agreement that they had been Bad, they were indeed all Insane, and they all did want to be Sane.
The state of Sanity was easy to achieve. One need only conform to societal/cultural standards, which were few, and very simple.
- go regularly to Employment for an owner of a Bank, Technology, or War related company
- borrow money from a Bank so you have a home
- borrow money from a Bank to buy food, heat, water, air, light and Technology.
- pay annual tithes to the owners of the Banks, Technology and War related companies
- appear to be Happy
That guy won't even kill the bacteria in his armpits
Personal hygiene was very high on the list of culturally acceptable behavior, for the Good of All. People were expected to spread toxic chemicals all over their bodies, propelling toxins into all bodily orifices, and even injecting them into their very flesh. This all cost money. Back to the Bank we all went, to get the money to buy the stuff necessary to fit in by poisoning ourselves.
So for one of the Questioners to stink was criminal.
She had mentioned the unmentionable feelings.
We were all suddenly swept up in feelings which were the reason we were there in the first place. We had demonstrated that we all experienced an excess of feelings.
With his glove extended the Stinker said, "Arise my fellow feelers, my fellow Questioners, it is time to stand on our own." We all began to glow (I have a thing about my characters glowing in this third prompt these days) and rose six inches above the ground (might as well levitate too). We left the room as one, and walked into the halls of Justice. Those who were our captors were so astonished, they started feeling too, and in the forbidden excess. Within seconds, all present were glowing, levitating and feeling joyful and loving.
Could it be that simple? If one of us present broadcasts joy and love, are joy and love not contagious?
I believe nothing is contagious on the breath of our fellow feelers - that notion is the ultimate control method. We must not be afraid of each other.
Feelings are infectious, not illness. Spread love and joy, not fear. Make sure you are sending out the signals you want to see more of in the world. Others will pick up on those signals, and exist in them if only for the time they are with you.
This is my entry to @mariannewest's [daily freewrite challenge] on Hive(https://peakd.com/hive-161155/@mariannewest/3-part-weekend-freewrite-352022). The prompts are in bold italics in my entry today. Like most of my freewrites these days, this piece was heavily influenced by the signal that Oracle Girl transmits.

Thank you!!!
Well, this has to be one of the most interesting read I'm coming across today. For obvious reasons, this is very interesting and I like the closure.
The ending paragraph was a good way to draw a conclusion to the imagery you gave with the narrative of the stinker and questioners as a whole.
We may not have control over the world, but we can be who we want others to be. If we spread a positive vibe, it will spread across to those around us.
Thanks! If I ever do run that contest, it will be something like this.
This is a good one.
Well, whenever you are ready, we will know where to come in. Well Done.
I ain't scared 👏😎🥓👍
I am!!!! The good kind of scared though. The kind that gets stuff done.
Positivity breeds positivity or the other way around. Have a good one @owasco ! Great write-up!
