Cold Winter day up on Cold Lake.
Freezing cold in March April May
When is summer ?????
March rolls in with a frosty grin,
Ice on the windshield, biting my skin.
The sun’s too shy, it hides away,
Winter lingers, come what may.
[Verse 2]
April showers, or so they claim,
But all I see is snow again.
The calendar whispers of springtime soon,
Yet snowflakes fall under a pale white moon.
[Chorus]
Oh, the never-ending winter, will it ever be through?
Freezing in my parka, skies so gray, not blue.
They tell me August might finally bring the sun,
But by then I'll have forgotten what warmth had done.
[Verse 3]
May arrives, yet the frost persists,
Shy little buds can't resist.
Geese are grounded, they’re too cold to fly,
While the maple syrup freezes outside.
[Bridge]
June comes knocking with a promise fair,
Yet icicles hang in the northern air.
I dream of green, of lakes that gleam,
But winter’s grip won’t lose its scheme.
[Chorus]
Oh, the never-ending winter, will it ever be through?
Freezing in my parka, skies so gray, not blue.
They tell me August might finally bring the sun,
But by then I'll have forgotten what warmth had done.
