Hello!

Today I publish a post about my #lobook initiative. Here, I share my experience about a book, beginning from the buying and finishing with my personal review. You can read more about lobook, consulting my first Lobook post here on Blurt.

AND NOW, LET'S GO!

This new episode takes a cue from the Ilaria Tuti's novel, published with the title Luce della Notte, dated back to 2021. In the image below, you can see a cover picture from which I removed a few parts, trying to avoid possible direct advertisings.

And below, some slices of the inner pages:

I bought the book several months ago, the paperback format. There are multiple editions with different prices, major for the hard-cover version and minor for the softcover one. The first price I found surfing the web here in Italy is €5,00, and reaches €16,80 for the hard-cover edition. You can find different price on your homeplace or online, someone with various offers.

TURNING PAGES

A little girl closed in on herself and unable to live for a long time. She is only nine years old, but something about her tells Commissary Teresa Battaglia that the experience of that young girl has marked her forever. That little girl's dream isn't just a dream, although - to her - it seems like one. There's something else underneath, and commissary Battaglia feels compelled to find it.

A new novel by Ilaria Tuti. I read the first one, "Fiori sopra l'Inferno", in which I found a good narrative. In this case, the text seems to follow that same false line. What convinced me much less was the content. Once again, and this time more than in the title mentioned above, I was more attracted by the scenes in which the contexts and characters are narrated than by the common thread that makes this book fall into the crime genre. In short, I liked the general narrative part more than the thriller part. The plot was a bit boring for me, too flat for my tastes.

The book is quite short, it doesn't even reach 240 actual pages. All in all, it's not a bad book, but it didn't convince me too much due to the aforementioned reasons. I would recommend it to those who love general narrative, but not to those looking for thrillers full of twists and turns that can be found in other thrillers on the market. Still, a decent read.

Pages: 243

Genre: Thriller, crime

PERSONAL RATING

For my personal rating of the book, I usually use two votes: a GENERAL VOTE, based on a more objective approach to the text (where I consider for example the author's way of writing, the plot, any errors found, etc), and an INVOLVEMENT VOTE, based instead on the effect that reading had on me (if it attracted me, if it intrigued and tempted me, if it gave me useful information, etc.). Each of the two ratings is marked with a number of stars, from one to 5.

In the case of Luci della Notte, my personal response is:

GENERAL Vote: 3/5
INVOLVEMENT Vote: 3/5
