I have these two dogs that I love dearly but have little time for. Originally they never belonged to me, but rather instead belonged to someone I used to work for, but since I have been the only one who have taken the most care for them, when I left that job, they followed me home including their mother and aunty, both of which have passed on now. So now there is just the two brothers.
This morning, after my grocery run, I arrive to find one of these idiots with a pretty bad leg injury and I could only take a pretty good guess what happened. He got ran over playing his favorite game of chase the wheel of cars. Which I never showed him to do that.
This is because earlier on they became street dogs. I only walked them and fed them and tended to their injuries before where I worked before. They would not be alive past their puppy age if it wasn't for me.
Well Doofus is ok, he has some swelling and cuts from being ran over but overall I don't think it's too bad. He's just not going to be running for a while.
Ain't that right big dummy?
That's Canelo.
He ain't saying much now.
Unfortunately for him I already spent my money is already well spent so had to make do with what I had at home which is not much. A combination of some medicinal herbs such as aloe and honey and love and wrapped his leg. I don't think it's broken but it swelled up. And he has bruising and a slight cut on his groins.
This is not the first time this has happened. But it is the first time I had to keep him inside for such an injury. I imagine it was a small car because if it had been anything bigger it would be way worse. And you would think he would learn his lesson his first time or third time but this is the 6th time and by far the worst I've seen him.
Here's a picture of his brother, Rudolfo, outside my front door.
And no I don't put their dog food in a bowl, because they either take them somewhere or someone steals it and I ain't made out of money to keep buying more and more. Fuck that. I even had a steel pot chained to my window and that got taken.
I seriously need a fence and another body guard/dog because these two twats make friends with everyone and dip at the sign of serious trouble from other dogs, but they have stood their ground if they see me in trouble. They have proven their loyalty at least that much. Lol.
Well, as you saw that is them at the time of writing this. One is eager for a walk while the other is medicated with the last bit of cbd oil I had left.
I'm expecting a full recovery from Canelo, he's a tough s.o.b.
He knows me cat Sophia well enough to not grow at her or even bother her but can't say much about the others. But the cats just keep their distance from him anyhow. I'll be keeping him with me till he recovers well.
Any tips and tricks could be helpful.
Poor sweetheart. Hope He learns!!! Wish I was there to take care of Him for You. Though I'm really not a dog person, still, a critter in need is a critter I will care for if I can.
You kidding me? Him learning not to chase? No he going to chase those wheels the moment he can run again unless I keep him inside indefinitely. He hates being on a leash. Never wore a leash never will.
I appreciate the kind gesture, though I don't think he'll let anyone near his injuries except for myself and his maybe his brother and Sophia strangely enough. Someone else tried to see his injury and almost got bit. He just trusts me more even if I cause him more pain in the process.
I need to build him a new home again.
LOL! We can hope, eh? Hope You get the home built!
That's tough to deal with his injury... As long as he stay rested up with plenty of food and care, he'll be out in the streets again to play. Dogs can be a hassle around cars, sadly.
May he feels stronger soon, rest will do it 🩷
