In today's post, I'm going to share ten simple habits that will boost your productivity and help you get more done. You'll be amazed at how much time and effort you can save by adopting these habits!
- Plan your day well in advance
It seems so basic, but planning your day ahead of time really does boost your productivity. When you know what you need to get done in the next few days and even hours, you'll be able to focus on those tasks that you need to get done, instead of wasting time on unimportant tasks that you can easily ignore later.
Plan your day and your week by scheduling out the following tasks:
Write down everything you need to get done in the next 24-48 hours
Organize your day so that the most important tasks take up the most time
Schedule your to-do list, prioritizing tasks in the order that they should be completed
- Have an all-in-one system to manage all your tasks
Every single task in your life requires some sort of system. Whether it's managing your personal finances, managing your work, or managing your social media, a tool can often save you hours of wasted time every day.
But what is the ideal system? I've seen many systems, from Evernote to Todoist to Trello to Google Calendar... and I want to talk about the one that I personally use, which works the best for me.
My system consists of three parts.
- Google Calendar
Google Calendar is a great way to keep track of what you need to do in the next 24-48 hours. If you're unsure of what you need to do next, you can use this tool to see all the events coming up over the next few days and weeks.
I also recommend using Google Calendar for any recurring events. It's a pain to check a calendar or website every day for when a certain event is happening.
- Evernote
While Google Calendar helps you to plan your day, you might find yourself getting distracted by something on the internet and forget to stick to your plan. This is where Evernote comes in.
Evernote allows you to create notes that you can access anywhere, even offline. While browsing the internet, you can capture anything you see online that you want to refer back to later. Evernote will then save it in a note so that you can access it at a later time.
I use this feature on my phone and computer, making sure I capture everything that I come across throughout the day. This includes quotes I read on social media, interesting articles on Hacker News, and even random things like people's faces on the street.
- Task Lists
At the end of each day, you should also set aside time to review your task lists for the day. This allows you to go through them and mark things off as you complete them. If you don't review your task lists, they'll grow and grow, causing you
