I thought a lot about renouncing my Australian citizenship. Reading this reminded me and in the end I decided not to because of money. But I have a special type of Dutch citizenship that makes me a second class citizen in the Netherlands. It is easier for citizens of other countries in their system. Though it is not terrible, the main reason I hold it anyway is to be able to live easily in Bulgaria.
I think once I have long term residence in Bulgaria I will renounce both and watch the confusion in the migration directorate whet I show them only a Aust BC and their ID card on my second visit.
Not quite stateless but not a citizen either.
Congrats on you 7th year not being a tax cow.
it took me five years to decide, six month to prepare, just about 5 minutes to take all the "official" papers from the government to move to somewhere and two days to leave the country... i guess they never found me at the adresse i had to give them for having my paps (which went to the gutter)
... hehe
Nice. Yeah I will be restructuring my relationship with the state as soon as I have some basics sorted
