Attitude is Everything

There's something I've noticed about myself and the things that make me happy... they all come down to attitude. I've been thinking a lot lately about the importance of attitude in making money online, and I want to share what I've learned with you today.

Why does your attitude matter? Why does it matter if you think that starting a business or making money online isn't going to work?

I've noticed a pattern with my own success where I've been able to keep going even when everything I've put my faith in fails. For example, if you were to tell me about a new web design company you started, or a membership site you launched, or a book launch... how much revenue are you talking about?

That's all good and well, but now let's imagine the following scenario:

  1. Your website never makes a dime.

  2. Your membership site loses money every month.

  3. Your book launches and sells zero copies.

  4. You lose your job.

  5. You're homeless and living out of your car.

  6. You die.

I guarantee you'll be much happier and healthier if you can look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that while everything was going downhill, you kept going.

Why? Because your attitude determines your altitude. Your attitude tells your brain that you're still worth something even though everything has changed. It doesn't matter if it's a change in circumstance, or the people around you changing or being replaced, it matters if you're able to accept that.

Now... you don't have to become a sociopath, or have no feelings, or be able to accept any criticism... but you need to learn to be happy with the fact that things have changed. It's not a time to sit back and try to find the silver lining, but instead to adapt, and to focus on how you're going to change your life for the better.

When you see setbacks as opportunities for personal growth and development, you realize that every change is a learning experience. Instead of comparing yourself to others, or looking around for someone to blame for your current circumstances... you just adapt.

It may be easy to blame others for the changes that happened in your life, but there's no point in dwelling on the past, or in making excuses for your failures. You're responsible for your happiness, so why waste another moment feeling sorry for yourself? Instead, take a minute to reflect on the positive things in your life, and spend that time developing a plan to make those things better.

So next time you're facing adversity, ask yourself if your attitude could be the difference between a downward spiral and an upward trend. Learn to love your mistakes, and embrace failure as a chance to be stronger.
