Yesterday I spoke about how I came up with the idea of contact lenses and a few pieces of information I got from opticians. I'll continue from there.
We were asked to come on a weekday so they can check the availability of the lens at stores. After a few weeks I had to go to Colombo and we thought to visit Vision Care's head office to check whether they have what we wanted. Even at this point, we hadn't specifically planned our selection. We directly went to the floor specifically for contact lenses. As I remember it is 4th floor.
I informed my requirement for reception and as it was my first time, I had to go through a vision check. It was to check my power as I requested for a powered contact lens.
My eyes had two visions so they gave me two options, either I had to take a lens of balanced power which is not exactly the same as the powers of my spectacles. Or I was asked to buy lenses for both eyes separately. Actually, for that, I had to buy two lens sets. So I asked them to adjust for balanced power. The balance power also gave me a proper vision, so I agreed with that prescription.
Secondly, I had to take a practice session to put and remove the lens. I was asked to clean my hands properly and they reached me how to handle the lens first.
Then they instruct me how to put it to the eye. Actually, initially, I was nervous and it took me several attempts to put it to my eye. It was a little uncomfortable in the first few seconds and later became normal. Then they instruct me how to remove it also. After that trial, I was asked to pick a color if I want. I picked two colors and asked them to check the availability of the color with power. One was available at the stores so we did the full payment there.
As the lens wasn't there yet, we asked them to courier the lens to Ambalangoda Branch. Within two days I received the lens at Ambalangoda.
I was very excited to wear it and check whether I can see the world with no specs at least for a few hours. Really I could. I am not thinking to use it frequently, but only for a few trips that are coming forward.
Yay! congrats for your new lens, I was also visited eye center last year in November , and I have different vision grade, the right eye is having 1.0 axis while 0.5 axis on my left eye. I was advised to take an eyeglasses and test it for a week if my dizziness will lessen. But I never did lol, thankfully I'm feeling fine now just took a good rest after my work, as I am working on the screen for the whole day.
Yes... Rest is the most needed one for our eyes. But in my case, I used these during school time also. That's why I always want to wear one.
