For a long time, we wanted to take our parents to see the Christmas spark in Colombo. So this December we finally were able to make that visit to see the beautiful Christmas decorations in Colombo. Last weekend we went to my parent's home and we scheduled our visit for Sunday evening half. Other than the Christmas decorations and lights Harith I had planned a few other places to visit on the same day.
We kept the places a secret until they got into the car. So around 12 noon, we departed from home and we managed to reach Colombo in about one and a half hours. We first stopped by Diyatha Uyana and we walked around the park under the evening wing. Most importantly we took a small boat ride to the Diyatha Station which is located across the lake for the restaurant.
After spending some time there we left for our next destination Gangarama Temple. This is the first time of all of us visiting to Gangarama temple and actually, it was worth visiting. There were plenty of survivors and items that were remarkably valuable and gorgeous.
The rain began to fall when we were there so we had to wait for like 30mins till the rain stopped. Then we went to Gangarama Seemamalakaya which was also very close to the temple.
Then we went to see the Lotus Tower. There was a queue to enter the elevator and same time some Christmas activities were also there. But the queue moved faster so we could come to view point after waiting for about 29mins. Then we watched the view of Colombo for some time. Thankfully there was no rain or heavy wind.
Our next planned destination was One Galleface Mall but unfortunately, the parking was full when we went there. So we had to head to CCC. The parking at CCC was also almost filled but we managed to sneak in. There were not as many Christmas decorations as I expected but we had a look around and spent some time there too.
After reaching CCC we enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decorations around Galleface. This was a fantastic experience for both parents and us.
We stopped by Thalappakatti Bambalapitiya to grab dinner. My parents enjoyed their delicious Biriyani. Everything went well and my parents enjoyed the trip very well. I should not forget my brother who spent at home taking care of our grandmother until my parents returned home.
Finally, it was a super successful visit.
