Housewarming Function!

Today is an extension for yesterday's article. Today I'll share how our housewarming event happened. Harith and I had no plans of having a big event already. So we just limited ourselves to a small ceremony with the participation of nearby relatives.

As there are some traditions, first of all, we checked for a good time to open the house. So we received 11.27 am on 6th February. There were several rituals to follow on the day.

First, the patriarch should go inside the house with the buddha's statue, and then the housewife with a pot filled with water. There were several items on the list to bring inside the house same time. There were fresh veggies and fruits, gold, money, and spices-like things.

Once the Buddha's statue is placed, we did religious activities there.

After that, it was the time of lighting the hearth. We arranged it in the living room. It was my task to light the hearth on time. It was a very nice feeling that you are playing a major role in the ceremony. ha haa

Once this event is done, it was time to arrange the table for lunch. The lunch was cooked at Harith's house and served at our house. There were plenty of dishes and desserts which are actually delicious.

We always tried to keep things tidy as much as we can. In this day I actually realized how much effort we need to keep a house as it is during a big gathering.

We received lots of impressive gifts too. All of them can be taken for house usage in the future. It was a nice gathering as I got a chance to meet Harith's family members. It's an unforgettable day of my life!
