Our trip to Kandy was a two-day trip. For the first day, we planned to stay in a budget hotel close to Template of Tooth Relic. We checked for a place that provides bed and breakfast.
We normally check for hotels from booking.com and then contact them directly to make reservations. It cuts off lots of budget.
We checked and called several hotels after checking reviews and finally picked Hotel Travelers Nest for our first night. Our call was answered by the owner, Mr. Chinthaka, and provided us with all the details and we made the reservation easily.
The hotel was located a 15min walking distance from the Temple and it was less than 5min by car. The hotel had no special views but it had all the other features.
The place was located on the last corner of the street, so it was quiet and calm. Also, there was a garage and on-site parking.
The person at the reception was very supportive. He had a very friendly discussion during the check-in time. We were also provided with a welcome drink.
We received a room in the corner. They had about 10 - 15 rooms. On that day other rooms were almost empty.
It was so cold at night so none of the AC or fans were useful to us.
The best thing I loved about this lodge was breakfast. They offered a three-course breakfast with tea. The meal was really delicious and it was one of best breakfast we have had from a hotel so far.
The employees support us by giving information about our next destination. They proposed us the best route to visit. The service was so personal.
We were very satisfied with their room, service and also the food.

I learned something from your post. I want to follow what you did. Check booking.com then call the hotel directly. I will do this the next time we travel. Thanks!👍
