Every girl has a dream of building their own kitchen. To be an owner of a kitchen that is nicely and conveniently arranged as they wish. Why not me?
I also dream to arrange my kitchen with my dream colors, equipment, and tools. And the same time my young age is passing at a very bad time. With tons of dreams, I started a well-paid job, but still, it is not enough to achieve the dreams I have.
But still, I am not going to give up on anything I dreamt of.
I wanted to purchase kitchenware for my new kitchen, but purchasing it all at once is unaffordable. Because even aluminum ware is bloody expensive now. So finally I decided to purchase them as bulks monthly. As I have plenty of time remaining to finish all arrangements, I decided to spend a specific amount each month to buy kitchenware.
First of all, I created a list of items that a kitchen needs to function. First I decided to complete the need of containers and bottles.
I did several online research regarding the prices of bottles and jars from different sellers. Unfortunately, the price of glassware was so high.
Prices of glassware of the above quality vary from 1200 (S) to 3000(L)+ in online stores. So we decided to have a look in physical stores also. Last Saturday we went to Manjaree Galle and realized the prices of the above glass containers are almost the same in physical stores too.
But the jam bottle-shaped glass bottles were cheaper than them.
Their prices vary from 140 - 340 for small to large sizes.
Then we checked some plastic bottle prices with the same quality look.
These bottles are way cheaper than glass bottles of the same capacity. It is important to buy only food-grade plastics for storing food items.
In the end, we both concluded that we will buy from physical shops instead of online shops. Because it seems some items can be found in local stores for cheaper price and also we can experience the look and feel of items.
If you know any thoughts about which kind of items to select, don't hesitate to share.
mmm... eat more foods that come in glass jars! Then the jars are free ;-)
eg sauces, jams, pickles etc etc.
I dont care if my kitchen shelves are not photogenic - it's the spices in the jars that matter most.
oh no 😅 That's what my partner is also saying.
ha haa true. Here we can't easily access amazon shopping due to high delivery rates. So free jar is the good option remaining .
I used to have very nice glass containers but they would break, now they are expensive and I have bought plastic ones, they have lasted a long time and are good. What matters is that you choose it to your liking because the ones who use them the most are us women.
hope both you and me will meet our dream kitchen
I also have a dream Kitchen but I have to give that up because of my limitations now @randula
Anyway, types of containers have their advantages and disadvantages. The issue that I can see in plastic containers is that acidic foods might react to it and cause toxins to be made that could contaminate foods.
Fir the glass containers, it will depend on the lid if it would last or not. But I hope that you will have the best suited for your own purposes. 👍
Thanks a lot for your information, it reminded me of something I missed. Here we use lots of spices
thanks for this
