Last Wednesday, I was planning to go to the office after some time. This was for a very special activity. This time, our company had taken the opportunity to participate in the University of Colombo School of Computing Career Fair. The career fair is organized by the faculty for fourth-year undergraduates and third-year dropouts who are soon joining the industry.
This was our first time at the UCSC career fair, and it was also my first time as an interviewer at a career fair. The event was scheduled to start at 9 am, so we were there on time. Our stall was arranged the day before the event, so all we had to do was prepare for the day.
The inauguration was short and sweet. After the inauguration, we were served with morning refreshments, which included a box of short eats and a delicious fresh mango juice.
After the morning refreshments, we went to our stall and started the interviews. About 25 students joined us for interviews. There were two interview panels, and we conducted interviews simultaneously.
Plenty of good students joined us for the interviews.
After the morning interview sessions, we were invited for lunch. Lunch was served as a buffet and was also very delicious. We had a good dessert as well.
After lunch, the second interview round began. Time passed so quickly as we interviewed students one after another. When it came to 3:30 pm, it was my time to stop. So, I had to hand over the next candidate to another interviewer.
This was a very good experience for me and another milestone in my career.
