Yay... It's Christmas again! As same as last year, I decided to come to Colombo this week to take part in Christmas activities at the office. Everyone is preparing for Christmas as they can. This time, we all face so many financial challenges during Christmas, but we still, try to have a colorful Christmas.
As I heard from my catholic friends, the price of Christmas decor has become extremely high. And also deco materials are very rare due to export limitations.
Yesterday evening we had a gathering to do Christmas decorations and wine tasting. This time we had a wooden Christmas tree which is very creative. Even in Colombo, decoration materials were very scarce so we couldn't purchase enough Christmas garlands of the same color to cover the tree.
So we had to do a lot to make the wooden Christmas tree green. Our boys were able to cover it with multiple garlands and then with bead lines and golden color leaves.
Little by little the tree became colorful. Then we hung blue and gold color ornaments to make it further live. It became very attractive once the lights were on.
Actually, it came better than I thought.
While decorating the Christmas tree there was a wine treat for everyone. Thankfully they had brought nonalcoholic wine as well. Things are served on a delicious platter. The platter was way enough to everyone and we all enjoy the snacks and fruits of the platter.
Eventhough I was very tired at the end of the day, it was a good day as we all rarely gather at the office. Looking forward to the Christmas party on Friday!
Hmm, interesting!
I didn't know that people in Sri Lanka celebrate Christmas.
