Designing and Installing Our Front Gate

Once the garden was finished, the next item on the list was the gate. Even though we already had a wall fence, the gate was still on our to-do list. So, as usual, we started our research on gates. First of all, we discussed our main concerns regarding the gate. Since our columns are quite tall and wide, we wanted a taller gate that would cover the garden view. Secondly, we wanted our wicket gate to be slightly open, allowing someone from outside to see a bit of the inside. We thought this would be safer than having everything completely covered. Additionally, we wanted our main gate to have some designs rather than being plain.

Once we finalized our main concerns, we started checking gate designs online and got a basic idea of what was available. We also gained a general understanding of prices.

We contacted multiple designers we found online to discuss their designs. We saw some beautiful gate designs around our area and reached out to a few homeowners to find out who designed their gates. Some of the gate owners did not recommend their designers. While we were taking our time to decide on a designer, we learned about Mr. Hemantha from one of our early construction workers.

After speaking with him, he sent us some samples, and we found "the design." For the wicket gate, we had the option of selecting a matching design to the main gate, but instead, we went with a simple stripe gate.

His prices were very fair, and we received many great recommendations about him. He visited us and took measurements for the gate. It took about three weeks to complete as they had to wait for a week for the paint to dry due to the rain.

They were very professional regarding the delivery and delivered exactly as promised. On the day of the gate installation, a team of three, along with Mr. Hemantha, arrived. After balancing everything, they installed the gate. It took about half a day to complete the work. They also retouched both gates with paint.

So, this is the final look of our front gate!
