Research shows that the power of smiling is equal to the power of two. This means that the more often you smile the more the power to influence others.
Do you smile more or less at your workplace? It might be an unconscious habit and one that your coworkers notice.
Smiling is one of the easiest things you can do to influence your mood and improve your energy level. Here's how you can use that energy to your advantage.
STEP 1: Set a Smile Goals
This might sound silly, but it's easy to set a goal to smile more. Start by focusing on a goal that seems attainable, like smiling at least 100 times a day, and then start from there. It's ok to have multiple goals so long as you focus on some sort of accomplishment.
STEP 2: Identify What You Want to Achieve
When you identify what you want to achieve, you'll find that the effort needed to accomplish the goal is much less. Once you've identified the goal, it will be easier to plan a strategy to achieve it.
STEP 3: Find a Trigger
A trigger is any situation that makes you feel happy and energized, such as a certain feeling in the air. Whenever your energy levels are low, look for a situation where you can smile.
Examples include: A coworker tells you about their family, you pass a stranger, you hear something funny on the radio. In any of these situations, smile.
STEP 4: Stick With It
As you become accustomed to smiling, it becomes easier and easier. So, don't forget your smiles goals! Every time you reach one, celebrate your achievement.
STEP 5: Take Your Smile With You
A smile is one of the best conversation starters. So, keep smiling around the office and in public. Remember to be aware of your surroundings so you can smile and greet your coworkers or customers wherever you happen to be.
Be happy 😃 😊 😆
