It was my mothers wedding, have to make an effort at times, but most of the time I am covered in oil, grease or dirt, and like it like that 😀
hehe that´s ok, I used to wear suits all day long in my days in Germany and the UK while working, but as soon as I´m off of the company this changes drasticly.
And after living in Cyprus, Italy and Spain I´m now used to run around in shorts and just a shirt, just when having negotiations for some very high priced properties I will do business in a more formal dress ;)
And hey let me say that you for one who is already retired look like a guy who is in his 30`s 😉
I retired at 38 for the most part, I did help GM setup a quality department in Katowice 7 years ago for a year, it was more fun than work, I would go once a month to a meeting with various departments, it would last a few hours, then it was get changed and hit the town for a night out with people that attended from abroad, my hotel was free, I was paid expenses and a salary for 22 hours per week, tax free, so that was more fun than work. At times I had to answer emails, but would say I spent less than 1 hour per week doing it as I had all the files from Land Rover and when I worked there.
Been offered jobs since inc Land Rover in Slovakia, not interested, want to see my youngest daughter grow up, not spend 16 hours a day on the phone and in meetings :-)
that sounds awesome mate, I never had such a nice and low hour work, because I mostly was in the top position of the comp. , but I won't regret a day from that time even if it was more than 16 hours a day at times.
I loved the job, and in the early days I always had my daughter with me when my wife was at work, we both had good jobs so no one wants to give up on it ;)
I could do whatever I wanted in the companies, I was also a shareholder, so I had room for my daughter in the office.
At school she had some problems with maths, here at the company she learned to understand things with one of our top scientists, a double studied and excellent astrophysicist and mathematician, and then to solve them on her own.
The guy was brilliant, or still is, we still work together in a company, he was the one with the highest IQ (140+) I had ever hired, he completed his two degrees in a double degree in less than 3 years all with honours and working on the side. But he is extremely difficult to deal with other people, although he himself is a great personality, we have a good connection.
He can give fantastic presentations on his topics, but he can't explain in detail to a non-scientist what it's all about, nor can he make a sales pitch for "his developed product" ;)
...and actually I´m working less hours and only from the home office, in some special cases I will have to move to one of our foreign offices in Italy, Germany or Cyprus for the project control, and some appointments in my Property business, so most of the times I control my schedule and that´s what I like ;)
